In the twilight of his career, basketball superstar Andre Jeffers is captivated by a very young, very virginal, and very beautiful groupie, Sierra Warner. At their first meeting he becomes obsessed with having her.
With the help of her scheming mother, she manipulates him into leaving his family and marrying her. Once she has what she wants, his money, his name, and a portion of his fame, she divorces him.
Andre doesn't love her. He realizes that he never really loved her the way he loved his wife, his childhood sweetheart, but he finds he can't let her go. She is his, bought and paid for.
When she is found slaughtered, Andre is the prime suspect--but not the only one. The real killer moves on to the next name on his list, Andre himself.
Las Vegas homicide cop Sam Howard must think all the way back to his first days on the homicide squad to solve his case, but can he do it before the murderer reaches his next victim?
From the exclusive estates of Beverly Hills to the Las Vegas Strip, ‘The Other Hand’ takes you along on a journey through the lives of athletes and movie stars and the circle of people who surround them, groupies, paparazzi, families, and sometimes even a real friend. It gives you another theory of what may have really happened the night the beautiful young blonde was left to die in a spreading pool of her own blood.

The Other Hand eBook Donna Foley Mabry

This is about the eighth book I've read by Donna Mabry since I discovered her just over a month ago. My first was Maud, then the Manhattan series, and then the Las Vegas series and now this one. I've enjoyed them all. This one has lots of twists and surprises and craziness. Some characters I liked and some I hated. And even though I thought I had the ending figured out I really didn't! Well worth reading. Unlike some reviewers I don't mind a typo or two, as I've found errors in expensive hard cover best sellers before. Sherirad

The Other Hand eBook Donna Foley Mabry Reviews

The story flowed well and it had many twists and turns. Howver, to be honest, it annoyed me by times.
What a lucky man-this main character! No matter how many "dalliances" he had, his "perfect" wife accepted them and overlooked them because
she "loved" him so much-so much that she accepted his child from one of his "other women". I tend to be a cynic when I read such "sugary" prose!
So, although it's a catchy story, it just didn't ring true enough for me.
Totally different style from the other book I read by this author. Again well written and entertaining.
I have read several of Donna Mabry's books. This was the only one so far that I find I didn't enjoy that much. I would just say that it is o.k. the first book I read was Maude. Love it! The second book was Jessica, also loved it. Then subsequently I read Pillsbury Crossing, also loved it. Then I read The Cabin, & once again I loved it.
What a wonderful story. Loving, maddening, heart warming, deceitful, adultery, all from a very selfish man named Andrea. Yet had all the love in his heart for his children that anyone could manage. Married to a woman who was dedicated to him in a never-ending life span. An ending that saddened me greatly as I had come to admire this family greatly.
This is an excellent book - a great story line, excellent characters and it keeps you fascinated until the end. She is a wonderful storyteller. I have read her Manhattan series but this is a very different genre and demonstrates her skills far better. Maureen Rowland-Aitken, Johannesburg, South Africa
I actually enjoyed this book once I got onto it, but it seemed to take awhile for my interest to peak. I got a little tired of the main character cheating on his wife and her being the ever forgiving martyr. About 1/2 way into the book I was hooked and continued to finish it. It was not my favorite read and I could not help but wonder if the writer had experienced any of these domestic problems herself. I hope not.
I was surprised how much I enjoyed this book. From the description, I was not very excited, but I've read many other books by Donna Mabry so I decided to give this one a try. The book was a good read (by no means challenging), and I thought I had it figured out. The closing was a surprise to me and I was disappointed until I really got to the end, which helped with closure and some kind of redemption. While I did want a tidy, happy ending, I think in the end I am glad that she ended it the way she did. More honest in how sometimes bad things happen to good people. I would recommend to someone looking for relaxed reading material.
